Do you subcontract the fitting?
No, generally we use our own staff who work for us on a full time basis. Some specialist trades such as electricians or heating engineers may be brought in for specific jobs.
Is my price fixed?
All online prices from our online quote engine are a guide price only and subject to change after a site visit or technical survey. An estimate is an indication of price, whilst any quotation we give based upon an actual site visit is fixed and will cover all products and services we detail. No-one likes nasty surprises so we set out to make our prices as accurate as possible, as quickly as possible.
How long does it take to complete my order?
We normally work to a six-week lead time (but on occasion could be shortened) and as a guide, a team will usually fit two doors or four/five windows a day. Some purpose made products can take longer to obtain so speak to us a quickly as possible to help avoid any delay. Not every enquiry is the same, so our estimator will be able to give you a better indication.
How do I know the work will meet with Building Regulation requirements?
Abbey are FENSA registered, a self-regulating scheme. Our work is regularly vetted and checked and we organise a free certificate once your order is complete.
What do I do if I experience a problem some time after my products are installed?
Contact our Service Dept. to arrange a service call. They will have your details along with the products we have installed.
Different Companies have given me different advice on Building Regulations, especially on the need for structural supports. Who is correct?
For an independent view, speak to the Building Control of your Local Council or email FENSA.
See Fensa’s FAQs to find out the Building Regulations that are a legal requirement when replacing windows and doors (with fines for those who ignore these rules and future house sales at risk if improperly completed).
